5-13-25 THOUGHTS
The job of every person is to learn! In the early parts of Proverbs, WISDOM speaks as a person. Our reading describes a lifestyle of serious and diligent pursuit! Ps 111:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do [His commandments;]His praise endures forever.” It’s one thing to acknowledge the truth of Psalms 111:10, it’s quite another to powerfully live it’s TRUTH! Are we too casual in our mind, heart and life? The desire for comfort is universal! We must get over that desire. We must let... yes HELP God make us into the person we can be for Him! The FEAR OF THE LORD and the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, are not things we borrow from time to time as we need them. We discuss here, the very foundation of our being! We speak of the difference between “one passing through”, and one “powerfully making an impact” on the world around him. This whole discussion feeds our LIGHT and SALT ability! It’s a lifetime pursuit.
Prov 2:1-9 My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you, 2 Make your ear attentive to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding; 3 For if you cry for discernment, Lift your voice for understanding; 4 If you seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasures; 5 Then you will discern the fear of the LORD And discover the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 Guarding the paths of justice, And He preserves the way of His godly ones. 9 Then you will discern righteousness and justice And equity and every good course.
My Prayer:
Sober us in our attack on life, O God. Give us a powerful yearning to know You fully. Help us to make our bodies respond to that yearning. Give us discipline to be Your pleasing children. May we see joy in the striving to discover the knowledge of YOU! Preserve us, O God, be our shield and guard us in Your way. In the name of our Savior, Amen.
